Youth Summer Camp (Grades 3-7). July 7 - July 20, 2025 "HONK Jr."
Camp runs Monday-Friday 10:30AM-3:30PM Truckee Community Arts Center Performances: July 18, 19 at 7PM and July 20 at 1PM Honk! Jr. is a heartwarming musical adaptation of The Ugly Duckling by Hans Christian Andersen. The story follows Ugly, a duckling who looks different from his siblings and is ridiculed by the other barnyard animals. Feeling out of place, he embarks on a journey of self-discovery, encountering a cunning Cat, a helpful Bullfrog, and other unique characters along the way. As Ugly faces challenges and learns valuable lessons about acceptance and self-worth, he ultimately transforms into a beautiful swan, realizing that being different is something to be celebrated. Filled with humor, catchy songs, and an uplifting message, Honk! Jr. is a charming tale about embracing individuality and the power of love and family.

13 is a high-energy coming-of-age musical that follows Evan Goldman, a 12-year-old New Yorker whose life is turned upside down when his parents divorce, and he moves to a small town in Indiana. As he prepares for his upcoming bar mitzvah, Evan is determined to make friends and climb the social ladder at his new school. However, he quickly learns that navigating middle school cliques, crushes, and drama is more complicated than he expected. With catchy pop-rock songs and a cast made up entirely of teenagers, 13 is a funny, heartfelt story about friendship, acceptance, and finding where you belong.

Truckee Community Theater presents Exploring Shakespeare: Acting Camp for Teens (Grades 6-12) Dive into the world of Shakespeare in this exciting and interactive acting camp! Designed for students in grades 6-12, this camp will explore the language, characters, and stories of the Bard through engaging scene work, improvisation, and performance techniques. Participants will develop their acting skills, build confidence, and gain a deeper appreciation for Shakespeare’s timeless works—all in a fun and supportive environment. Whether you’re new to Shakespeare or a seasoned performer, this camp is the perfect opportunity to bring his words to life on stage!
Camp Tuition Information 2025
Camp tuition for 2025 is $350 per week.
1 Week Camps - $350 Registration Online
2 Week Camps: Registration Fees: $350 paid at time of registration to secure space and confirm. Production Fees: $350 paid to TCT on or before the first day of the camp session. Registration fees are paid to TDRPD directly. Production fees may be paid by check, credit card, or Venmo. Refund Policy: Once registration fees are paid, they are refundable as indicated below: 2 weeks or more before the first day of camp - Full refund less $25 processing fee. 2 weeks to 1 week prior to the first day of camp - 50% refund Within 1 week of the first camp day, all fees are non refundable.
Scholarships: Due to lack of funding for the arts, scholarships have to be limited this summer. Scholarships are limtied this summer to 1 full and 2 partial per camp. Applications are reviewed by the Truckee Community Theater Board of Directors and awarded until exausted..
